Education

Festive Flutes have always enjoyed the concerts that we perform to children as part of our education programme and consider this as a central part of who we are. The lively discussions that run through our workshops have inspired children throughout England and Ireland and we look forward to extending our experience abroad in December 2009 when Festive Flutes have workshops planned for Holland.

Our inspiration comes directly from the music and the arrangements that we use. We involve the children by introducing the full range of flutes from Piccolo to the Bass and encouraging involvement by asking the children to help us by playing a variety of tuned and untuned percussion provided by Festive Flutes, and where possible by including sections that are carefully arranged for instruments taught within the School and put together in a one-three hour session.

Through this work we aim to enhance awareness and appreciation of music and encourage creativity and involvement as we collectively participate in a tremendous group performance.
